Mr. Sanusi met me end of last year and discussed about Java Server Faces (JSF) - one of the J2EE framework. He requested me to explore more on it and share with him whether it is feasible to ask his final year students to use the framework for their Final Year Project (FYP).
It took me one week to explore on JSF and after going through few frameworks, and together with my friend's suggestion; i suggested to Mr. Sanusi that we can try on JSF framework using JBoss RichFaces. I demo to him some simple examples.
"Ok Chang, i had decided, all FYP students under me MUST use JSF to develop their project. I wouldn't accept any other programming languages other than Java". This is what he told me after the demo.
Suddenly i felt worried. Is my idea a good one? Will the students be able to cope with the hard learning curve of JSF? Will they be able to develop their system using it? I told Mr. Sanusi about my worries, but he said he is confident that his students will be able to do it. And before he left, he told me:" I'll make sure my diploma students also uses JSF for their Diploma Project". wah, boleh ke?
Almost 3 months passed, those students who found it too difficult for them to catch up with JSF are doing great now. They are progressing well. But as a conclusion, they still prefer to stay away from Java and it's framework after their project ends. Haha... "Its too hard for me!", they told me.
Well, I am happy that they are progressing well, some of them even almost finish their project development. I am impressed with their ability to adapt and learn new technologies which was alien to them at the beginning. Now they are far more expert that me in JSF. I am very happy to see them progressed well.
I would like to wish them good luck and all the best in their FYP.
p/s: its ok to hate me because of Java, but don't hate Java because of me!
Good luck guys!

I am determined to maintain the perpendicular position
Lucy Stone
Perpendicular lines makes right angles, they make possible extensions of both height and width. Right angles are weight bearing. We speak of asserting something squarely, making perpendiculars.
People who speak their minds freely and assert their individual feel perpendicular; the corners they create - by their points of view are sturdy and open. Others can use them to build structure on.
It's important to claim the perpendicular, even though we ma feel pressured into curved or parallel positions. If we are centered in ourselves, others won't throw us off balance.
Each of us needs to find our own center so we can occupy our own place. Others will recognize us. Together we'll build high and wide

Laughter - the cure for sorrow
Mohd Najwan Md Khambari
A hearty laugh can warm up a cold room and make our spirit soar. But many of us are afraid to laugh, especially when we make mistakes. We think that we are expected to be perfect, and we don't allow ourselves to make mistakes.
However, we are not mold punched out by a machine. We are human beings, with all our wonderful flaws. It is those flaws that make our lives interesting and surprising.
Who knows when we might accidently bump into a chair or catch our sweater on a doorknob? We need not feel self-conscious, it happens to many of us.
The ability to laugh at ourselves is a gift from God. All we need to do is grab and use it. Then we will see how healthy and powerful laughter can be...

Today was like a shadow. It lurked behind me. It's now gone forever. Why is it that time is such a difficult thing to be friend?
Mary Casey
Each passing minute is all that we are certain of having. The choice is ever present to relish the moment reaping fully whatever it benefits, knowing that we are being given just what we need each day of lives. We must not pass up what is offered today.
Time accompanies us like a friend, though often a friend denied or ignored. We can't recapture what was offered yesterday.
Its gone. All that stands before us is here now.
We can nurture the moment and know that the pain and pleasures offered us with each moment are our friends... the teacher our inner selves await. We can be mindful that this current moment, this combination of events and people, won't come again. They are the gift of the present. We can be greatful.
We miss the opportunities the day offers, because we don't recognize the experiences as the lesson design for our development. The moment's offering are just necessary and friendly to our spiritual growth...
