Congratulation My Friend...
One of my friend working at Satyam Computer Services Ltd in Cyberjaya was posted to Singapore for his next project. He said he will be there for at least 2 years. I asked how bout the salary? He said they will pay him around $3000 (Singapore dollar, not RM). "Wah!, Bagus-bagus" I said.
He called me up yesterday and told me that his posting was confirmed. He thanked me for guiding him last time, and he said he wouldn't be at his current position without me. HUH?! Guided? When i did that? As for my concern i never did anything for him! haha.
What i did was this (it happened last year before our graduation):
Me:"Satyam akan datang untuk interview kat UTeM esok, so tryla pergi"
Friends:"Datang UTeM? malas la..."
Me:"Pergi la, ade makan free..."
Friends:"Makan FREE? OK! Kami akan pegi"
(Well, they did went to the interview, not because of free food but they were searching for job by then)
And only one of them managed to pass all the test and basic qualifications Saytam wanted. He was called for interview there.
After few days, he told me that he was quite disappointed as the convocation is around the corner and he was not able to find any job.
he said:"Jumaat ni dah nak konvo, saya masih belum dapat kerja lagi, ntah apa nak cakap ngan parents saya nanti..."
And without thinking much, these words just came out from my mouth:
"jangan risaula, Satyam akan call dan tawar kerja sebelum Rabu ini."
I said that because I know his capability and I was so confident that he will get the job from Satyam.
He is bit lazy but very committed in workings.
He told me on Wednesday:
"Aku dapat call dari Satyam, dah confirm dapat kerja sana. Ini antara hadiah birthday aku yg paling best. Jumaat ni boleh bagi tau parents aku dah dapat kerja!"
"Waa tahniah tahniah" I told him, and at the same time i was thinking:("huh, nasib baik apa yang saya cakap betul-betul berlaku! haha"). Well, just a coincident. Haha
he jointed Satyam and after the training he was posted in Bank Negara Malaysia's project. Now he is posted to Singapore for his next project.
He made so far not because of me but because of his capabilities and skills. He is very good in technical skills. His knowledge and efforts creates good chances and brings him to better positions.
I really appreciate that he still thank me for helping him last time (is that considered help? haha...)
Seeing my friends doing well in industry and successful in their life, it motivates me to work harder too! Thanks guys.
Good luck my friend! All the best.

today was the Workshop 2 Exhibition for the 3rd year students. Participants were interactive media and software development students.
i visited the exhibition and walked through the student's works. And here are some of my findings:
1. Student's presentation skills are not very excellent. I even found some students presented in BM. Well, what's the point of preparing everything in English, yet the presentation was in BM? I doesn't meant to look down in BM but i think students should present in English since they had done everything in English (from the system to report and also the poster!). English is very important in Industry and the students should master in presenting and communicating in English. Well this is some feed back from my friends who are in industry now.
2. I also noticed some of the student's communication skills was not very good. They are not able to defend or convince why they did certain kind of flow or methods (even though they were presenting in BM!). When the panels asked why did like this, they can't give concrete answer although what they did was correct. In industry, when you are not able to convince your customer, you will loose the business!
well, i don't want to comment too much as i had also went through the same process and i knew hows the feeling of the students doing the workshop 2.
As a overall conclusion, there are many mobile applications developed and i also noticed some very good ideas which have potentials. I do hope they will expend the idea in their coming final year project.
Good Luck folks!

Deepavali, or Divali is a major Indian festival, and a significant festival in Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism. Many legends are associated with Diwali. Today it is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs across the globe as the "Festival of Lights," where the lights or lamps signify victory of good over the evil within every human being. The festival is also celebrated by Buddhists of Nepal, particularly the Newar Buddhists.
In many parts of India, it is the homecoming of King Rama of Ayodhya after a 14-year exile in the forest. The people of Ayodhya (the capital of his kingdom) welcomed Rama by lighting rows (avali) of lamps (deepa), thus its name, Deepavali. This word, in due course, became Diwali in Hindi. But, in South Indian languages, the word did not undergo any change, and hence the festival is called Deepavali in southern India. Southern India marks it as the day Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura.
Diwali is celebrated on the first day of the lunar Kartika month, which comes in the month of October or November.
In Jainism it marks the nirvana of Lord Mahavira, which occurred on October 15, 527 BCE. The Sikhs celebrate Diwali for a different reason; on this day, the Sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind Ji, was freed from imprisonment along with 52 Hindu Kings (political prisoners) whom he had arranged to be released as well. After his release he went to Darbar Sahib (golden temple) in the holy city of Amritsar. There, he was greeted by Sikhs and many other people. In happiness they lit candles and diyas to greet the Guru. In India, Diwali is now considered to be a national festival, and the aesthetic aspect of the festival is enjoyed by most Indians regardless of faith.[1]
Happy Deepavali and Happy Holiday to all my friends. Have a nice day.
